RockStock’s mission is to unite a community of health and fitness professionals dedicated to movement innovation.

RockStock 2018 will create a community of ideas and discussions centered around building RESILIENCE through a variety of mind-body strategies. We will foster dialogue centered around the psychosocial factors related to pain* perception, human performance, and recovery. Helping our patients and athletes become more RESILIENT starts with us. RockStock’s unique conference style attracts health and fitness leaders from all over the country who are dedicated to continually upgrading the quality of care they bring to their communities.

As we all learn and network new concepts; we will blend movement and music with sun, sand and science for an unforgettable EXPERIENCE.

9:45-11:00AM – Mindful Resilience
Join Brian Nunez, CPT, PES to explore concepts and techniques that will help your patients and clients develop cognitive and emotional flexibility. 11:15-12:15 – The Resilience Continuum
Doug Kechijian, PT, DPT will discuss what it means to be physically and intellectually adaptable and resilient as a human being and will cover complexity theory, consuming information in the age of endless data, managing uncertainty, science and tinkering, principles of adaptation, general ability and specialization, and much more! 12:15-1:30PM – Lunch Buffet in Rockstock Village
Food, tunes and time to visit Vendors and learn about new products

1:30-4:00PM – Afternoon Workshops (two breakout sessions)

Workshop: Mindful Resilience with Brian Nunez
The mental game of behavior change will be explored. In this workshop you will learn

  • Resiliency of the Mind – how to prepare the mind for human movement
  • Skills to develop mental fortitude during stressful environments
  • Mind/body techniques to foster mental preparedness
  • How to remove negative self talk and replace it with positive imagery
  • Positive imagery tactics to instill positive behavior change
  • Think and move drills demonstrating how mindset can change performance

Workshop: The Resilience Continuum with Doug Kechijian
How we do things is often more impactful than what we do. Learn how to

  • Integrate sports medicine and physical preparation concepts into a model that maximizes training reward and minimizes risk
  • Enhance the execution of basic strength and power exercises to reduce the need for specialized interventions and manners of thinking
  • Elite performers from a variety of disciplines utilize systematic progressions to master fundamental skills. Those progressions are applicable to any practitioner along the rehabilitation-performance continuum.

4:00-5:00PM – Environmental Resilience
Dr John Campione, DC, CSCS, CES
will lead a discussion about how resilience is a facilitated process of engagement with an environment that makes it possible for us to fully realize our capacity. He will demonstrate how to feed the sensory system in order to attain improved motor responses and will show how to tap into certain areas of the brain in order to facilitate improved outcomes with our patients.

6:30-9:00PM – Rockstock Party
Get your groove on! Join us at Rockstock Village for food, beverages, music, games and fun, and time to chat with our speakers and your fellow attendees.

10:00-11:00AM – From Pain to Resilience
Russell Orr, MS, ATC, CSCS will talk about how we can “Bridge the Gap” from “Pain to Resilience” and cover topics including optimal movement progressions in developing movement efficiency, the physiological basis for movement progressions, the effect of pain* on movement, how motor programming and awareness affect learning, and present applied movement progressions. Note: this lecture has a corresponding interactive workshop in the afternoon.

Shante Cofield, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, CF-L1 will discuss how developing and sustaining resiliency is affected by the words we choose, the tools we use, and the manner we use them in respect to the outcomes we seek for our patients. I never thought the movement summit could get much better, but I was so wrong to underestimate the brass at RockTape to out-do themselves as they chose a beautiful venue, loaded with expert presenters, while keeping the outstanding fun and educational culture.

Adam

I learned many new pearls, reinforced current practices, and sprouted some of my own new concepts to further grow personally and professionally. The RockTape Movement Summit is THE ultimate annual continuing education experience! I highly recommend it for any professional who wants to help others enjoy life by feeling and moving better.

Katie

RockTape has a way with bringing like-minded people together to have fun and learn!  The vibe was outstanding and non-comparable to many of the seminars that I have been to.  This was the most memorable seminar I have attended in 20 years.
